I have never felt so supported in my life before than I have from the moment I stepped inside the funeral home. They offered me coffee and water, tissues and chocolates. I am very thankful for allowing mountain view to take care of my sweet Robert.

The staff at this mortuary are the best people for this job. They were more than caring and helpful. I have been a wreck during the process of losing my daughter and Paul has been amazing with keeping me updated and allowing me to feel the emotions of grief. This mortuary is beautiful and clean to the touch in every area I walked through. An amazing helping hand during this tough time. Thank you Paul and staff.

I'm trying to simplify my life. So recently I made an appointment to discuss pre paying for my funeral expenses. By paying now I lock in today's fees, and make it less complicated in the future for relatives to take care of the final arrangements. I arrived at my appointment with Paul Noell, the funeral director and manager, a little early. But Katrina seated me in a nice meeting room and got me some water. She reviewed their list of expenses and gave me a catalogue to look over. By the time Paul was available, I had looked all the paperwork over and had written down just a few additional questions that he answered right away. My coverage will follow me pretty much all over the US, and will probably have some benefits while I'm still traveling internationally. The basics for me are transportation from point of death to mortuary, cremation, and transportation to the family spot in Missouri. Due to a federal law, go figure, the only item not covered is the urn I would like to be placed in the resting place. But currently only $200, I don't think that will be a huge issue down the road. I essentially purchased a small life insurance policy that covers the expenses. The purchase was at current fees of just under $2000. This policy will grow over the years as cost of products increase. MountainView is associated with a network of mortuaries across the country so care can be provided almost anywhere. Payments were an option, but not financially recommended. Credit card for full payment is also available. The facility was serene and bright. Lots of windows. They have their own large parking lot out front. An appointment is required. There's a doorbell to ring to have staff let you in.

I recently lost my mother which of course is one of the hardest things to go through. I would have never expected this process to be handled so easily as this is the first service I had to arrange. The staff at Mountain View Mortuary left me speechless on the day of her service as everything went very smoothly and my needs were met with compassion. I will forever recommend this Mortuary to others as I couldn't have asked for a more sympathetic and caring group of individuals who are truly looking to help their community! Thank you Paul and staff!

My dad had purchased some burial plots at the cemetery a few years ago. In March 2020, he decided to plan his funeral. I believe Paul helped him then. And Paul was the one to help my family and I put it all together today. My dad passed away at Stanford Hospital in Palo Alto, CA. I had no idea how to get his body back to Reno. But Paul and the staff at Mountain View were so patient and resourceful! They orchestrated the whole process for me! I am still grieving so its hard to write a full review. My dad passed away on September 8th, 2020. But the funeral was today (the 21st). I just wanted to make sure everyone knows how good this funeral home is! They will help you with everything! And they will let you know prices and help you out. I highly recommend this funeral home. They truly care about families!

Paul and Ken were absolutely wonderful to work with. They are caring, compassionate and professional. Every step of the way we felt well treated and that they were there to help rather than try to make money off of us. In fact, they even suggested some cost saving tips. They are clearly in this business because they have a passion for what they do. The female receptionist can be a bit of a struggle to deal with at times, but don't let that deter you. We almost did and we are glad we focused on who was doing the actual work as opposed to who was answering the phone at times. We cannot recommend Mountain View Mortuary highly enough.

The personnel at Mountain View Mortuary were so kind when I lost my mom. This facility made it easy to make last minute arrangements for an untimely death. We had nothing prepared and were definitely not in the right frame of mind to make the decisions that needed to be made. I dealt with one of the Directors whose name is Mr. Steve Schwerdtfeger, he was very kind and patient and made this difficult process so smooth and comforting for my family. This Mortuary walked us through the entire process with no pressure what so ever. They made you feel like family. Thank you all for the kindness.

We worked with Ted throughout the entire process of making our loved one's final arrangements. He couldn't have made it any easier. He was patient, kind, and answered any and all questions with knowledge. The site itself was perfect for our needs and had everything ready and at our disposal.

Mtn View and the director, Ken, held a service for my father who had passed away in a sudden car accident. Ken was especially accommodating and thoughtful. I felt like he really cared about my father's service. He went out of his way to make sure everything was to our standard and considered even our small, petty requests. Although young, Ken showed the upmost professionalism. He helped our family with transportation, floral arrangements, pastor requests, publications, and the like. He was very patient even though our family was pushy regarding the death certificate that is handled by Washoe county. He helped us through the entire process. That said, the facility is exceptionally clean and well kept. They have rooms for large and small parties. Most importantly they were understanding of financial constraints and payments. They were never pushy for payments. Exceptional facility. I highly recommend giving Ken and his team an opportunity to host if you experience an unfortunate event as my family did.

Yes, I am a fan of this mortuary. My brother and I have lost both parents, one in 2009 and now our mom in 2013. We have used this place twice. They are very friendly and HELPFUL. Jayson T. Pulsifer, helped us this time with my mom and he did a excellent job of handling all our concerns and issues. I am writing this review just because, "yes" people do look on yelp as to the best places around to use. As hard as this time is for our family Mt. View has helped us each step of the way. Thank you, Mountain View

I want to extend my utmost gratitude to the older gentleman who helped coordinate my little blue eyed redhead toddler's funeral in 2021. His kindness in coordinating us with the Aubrey Brown foundation, his care in placing our beloved's body next to an angel bear plushy in the room for private viewing, everything --to the most minute details were undoubtedly handled with care. He felt so bad for me he personally extended an apology over the incident..............If this isn't a shining example of going "beyond" for a client, I could not conceive of anything Greater. To THIS DAY, this gentleman's reassuring hug is in my memory, it helped reduce slightly the awful sting of death that permeates every cell of my being every waking moment, with the strength to persevere which became my defining factor. If you are going through hard times friend, know your loved one lives on in your heart. I do 100% recommend this place, and may you find solace in dreams of visits. Not even death can sever love. Thank you for reading and may you be well in life today and always.

Very caring, and helpful staff. Not a corporation like the other mortuaries in Reno area. They made me fell like my family was their only priority, which made for a beautiful final farewell. There facility is nicest we looked at in town and they offered everything in one location which worked out seamlessly for the service and reception. They also were much cheaper than the other mortuaries in the area.

Ken was an absolute blessing during an incredibly hard time for my family. He was compassionate, patient and went out of his way to do anything and everything for us. From staying late in order to pick up our urns to never pressuring us on time during our viewing, even long after our scheduled time was up. This review is for him, he was the perfect person to usher us through this incredibly difficult time. He is truly doing gods work and I couldn’t recommend this place more.

I lost my beloved wife 6 weeks ago to cancer. I was completely lost and left with the daunting task of handling things after my wife’s passing. We already had the cremation and the niche prepaid years before with Mountain View Cemetery, but everything else was yet to be carried out and finalized. Mountain View Mortuary was recommended by a close friend who had also lost her beloved a few months before. I’m so glad I went to these wonderful people for help with this whole overwhelming situation. Steven, Heidi, Ken, and Katrina all helped In varying degrees with my beloved’s viewing, cremation, internment, and Celebration of Life. After meeting Steven, he presented a number of options, listened, and offered help and suggestions, as needed. He coordinated all of those selections with thoughtful attention to detail. He was genuinely interested and very caring in all aspects of our wishes and requests. I couldn’t have asked for anyone better to handle these important arrangements! Everything was done with the utmost respect and professionalism, including my wife’s Celebration of Life, which was absolutely beautiful! So many friends and family commented on how wonderful everything turned out! I can’t express my appreciation enough for how the wonderful people at Mountain Family Mortuary took care of us! I highly recommend these fine people and their wonderful organization, to take care of your needs, should that need arise. Thank you!

Our family had the good fortune of going to Mountain View Mortuary where we met Ken Cox. What a compassionate and kind man. He never rushed us, and helped with any questions we had. Ken is truly an angel. I don't know how we would have gotten through this difficult time without his compassion, care and concern. He guided us through the process with dignity and love. Thank you Ken for everything, you are a true friend.
