Obituary for Francis Walker Trigero

Francis Walker Trigero peacefully passed away on July 2, 2020 in Reno, Nevada.

Frank was born at home in Reno on January 5, 1927 to Jose Caytano Trigueiro and Maude Lillian Wright Trigueiro. He attended Orvis Ring Elementary, Northside Junior High, and Reno High School. He left high school his senior year in January 1945 to enlist in the U.S. Navy where he served in San Francisco as a radio operator.

After the war Frank returned to Reno, attended the University of Nevada, and began his career at Bell of Nevada as a lineman. He married Dawn McCray in 1948. He was recalled by the Navy to serve in Guam during the Korean Conflict. In 1953 Frank and Dawn welcomed their son Stephen.

Frank told his grandson, Zachary that 1954 was the worst and best year of his life. He and Dawn divorced in early 1954, but in the summer while he was hanging line at Lake Tahoe, Frank met chief operator and love of his life, Ramona Rothenbuehler. After a whirlwind six-week courtship, Frank and Moe eloped to Virginia City on September 26, 1954. The new couple settled in Reno where they expanded their family to include Tom, Bobby, and Alison.

Frank and Moe retired from Nevada Bell in 1982. Together they thoroughly enjoyed their retirement years golfing and socializing with family and friends in Reno and Lake Almanor, California. Frank and Moe were married for over 57 years until Moe’s passing in 2012. He mourned her loss the rest of his days.

Frank was predeceased by his beloved wife Ramona, his seven siblings, Elwyn, Marvin, Clayson, Melba, Jacky, Kenneth, and Joann. He is survived and missed by his sister-in-law, Joyce Rothenbuehler Blank of Modesto, CA; sons, Steve (Melissa) of San Jose, CA, Tom (Deborah), Bobby (Natalie), and daughter Alison Hershenow (Max) all of Reno; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A private interment was held Wednesday, July 8, 2020.
