Helping our Families Connect Honor and Remember
There are condolences waiting approval on Michael's Tribute wall
Obituary for Michael Mathew Frow Jr.

Michael Mathew Frow, Jr. was born to Michael Sr. and Lillie Frow on January 22, 1927 in Bettendorf, Iowa. He attended the Wentworth Military Academy and served our great nation with valor and dignity during World War II. Michael continued to be a rough and rugged soldier on the football field while he played for the Army.

On September 10, 1950, Michael took his true love, Irene Pagomenos, as his bride. The Frow Family grew as Irene blessed Mike with the birth of all five of his children: Michael III, Mark, Michele, Mathew, and Marla. In 1964, they relocated and resided in Boulder, Colorado, where they opened the family restaurant, The Pizza Box. After visiting Reno for a vacation, Mike and Irene fell in love with the mountainous city and made Reno their forever home in 1973.

His interests included good food and fancy restaurants, and he shared his affinities with those he loved (all of whom were grateful). Most notably, he created a special bond among his six grandchildren by taking them to indulge in a banana split at the Peppermill, a memory that each of them hold dear. Additionally, Mike had the most impressive and illustrious video cassette collection that would rival any Blockbuster store, and consistently maintained the notion that he would watch each and every hour of every show that he had ever recorded.

Mike's most distinguished legacy is his family. He is remembered as going without so that his children did not have to. He loved his family with everything that he had, and was there for every moment. He was every bit the definition of a family man, and stated that it was all he really lived for.

On October 21st, Michael joined the Kingdom of Heaven, with his wife Irene at his side. He is preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Lillie, and his son Mark Emmanuel. He is survived by his wife Irene, and his children and their families: Michael III (Doris), Michele (Mark), Mathew (Diane), and Marla; including six grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; as well as his sister-in-law Shirley Schutzman, and cousin Patricia Coutentos.

He was of Greek descent, and was proud of it. He was not shy to celebrate his heritage with some mataxa, and all the home remedies that would cure any sort of ailment. He would never offer a departure in person or over the phone without his loving "God Bless". Family will greet friends from 5-7pm on Monday, October 26th at Mountain View Mortuary. Services are October 27th at 11am at St. Anthony's Greek Orthodox Church. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Anthony's Greek Orthodox Church at 4795 Lakeside Dr., Reno, NV 89509.
